Captain’s Report – October 2014

Rutherford First Aid Squad Captain Michael Tarantino has reported that the Squad responded to 142 calls for assistance during the month of October 2014, traveling over 1,682 miles. Of the 142 calls for assistance, 102 calls were classified as medical emergencies, 25 calls were for trauma, 11 calls were for motor vehicle accidents, there were 2 fire calls, 1 cardiac arrest and 13 calls were classified as other.

The Squad visited 6 different hospitals, with Hackensack University Medical Center leading with 68 visits.
The Squad treated 88 residents, 40 nonresidents and responded to 11 mutual aid calls. The Squad requested the services of the Paramedics on 51 occasions.
