On your mark, get set, GO!
June 13th marked the 5th annual Andrew Ortega “Touch a Heart” Run and 5K Fun Walk. Hundreds of people of all ages gathered at Memorial Field to participate in the charity run in memory of a life lost too soon. Whether competing for first place, beating a personal best time, or just walking with friends, all were brought together for this good cause. The sea of red shirts flowed through the streets of Rutherford. Rutherford EMS and Fire Dept. were at the finish line to cheer the runners on, and assist if an emergency presented itself. Following the run, participants enjoyed hotdogs and hamburgers fresh off the grill, children gathered in KidSpot to enjoy the festivities, and a DJ was on hand to enhance the lively atmosphere the run embraces.
We hope to see you all lace up your sneakers and participate in next years event.
And remember, “Run, Andrew, Run!”
