RESOLUTION
NOVEMBER 9, 2010
BOROUGH OF RUTHERFORD
COUNTY OF BERGEN
STATE OF NEW JERSEY
WHEREAS, with feelings of deepest regret, the Governing Body of the Borough of Rutherford must record the passing of Randall D. “Scotty” Mackie on October 22, 2010; and
WHEREAS, he was devoted to the Borough of Rutherford by dedicating his time and talent to various organizations in town including serving as a past commander of the VFW Post #227, a member of the Rutherford Old Guard, a former Rutherford Volunteer Firefighter and most recently as a member of the Rutherford First Aid Ambulance Corps; and
WHEREAS, he became a member of the Rutherford First Aid Ambulance Corps, joining in May of 1995, shortly thereafter successfully completing the State Health Department Emergency Medical Technician program and volunteering his time by providing emergency medical services to the residents, visitors, and businesses in Rutherford, being recognized on several occasions for outstanding performance while on ambulance duty and receiving in 2003 the VFW Post #227 Corps Person of the Year Award;
Whereas, we do, therefore, realize to the fullest extent the benefits which the residents of the Borough of Rutherford had derived from the volunteer efforts of Randall D. “Scotty” Mackie because of the warm, personal feelings inspired in our hearts by his kindly, unselfish life;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Governing Body of the Borough of Rutherford, that we hereby subscribe upon our records this tribute to his memory, that the citizens of the Borough of Rutherford may know and appreciate his contributions to the Community at large and his many benevolent deeds and the respect and esteem in which he was held; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to his immediate family, together with the assurance of our sincerest sympathy.
